Health Policy | Academic Centers

The Center for Health Policy Research, a part of Penn State University, provides research on health services issues in the United States.

CHSRP is the major health services research center for The George Washington University Medical Center, and is located within the School of Public Health and Health Services. CHSRP identifies, monitors, and analyzes emerging issues in federal and state health law and policy and evaluates the effects of changing federal policies on health care access, quality, and cost at the state and local levels.

Part of the University of Minnesota, the Children, Youth & Family Consortium addresses the critical health, education, and social policy concerns of Minnesota's children, youth, and families.

Part of the University of San Francisco, the Disability Statistics Center produces and disseminates statistical information on disability and the status of people with disabilities. The Center also establishes and monitors indicators of how health, housing, economic and social needs are being met for people with disabilities.

As part of Duke University, the Center for Clinical Health Policy Research encourages the formation and implementation of sound clinical health care policies.

The Health Policy Cyberexchange is an online resource for health policy information.

Part of Harvard University's School of Public Health, Harvard's Center for Children's Health uses research to influence policy and practice in order to improve the lives of children.

Part of Georgetown University Medical School, the Health Privacy Project is dedicated to raising public awareness of the importance of health privacy in order to improve health care access and quality, both on an individual and a community level.

Part of Georgetown University, the Institute is a multi-disciplinary group of faculty and staff dedicated to conducting research on key issues in health policy and health services research.

Part of Northwestern University, the Institute focuses on health care delivery systems, outcomes analysis, economic analysis, and policy analysis, particularly in the clinical areas of cancer, children's health, disability and chronic conditions, and mental health and substance abuse.

Major research and educational programs now include chronic diseases; organization, financing, and management of health services; violence and substance abuse; injury prevention; the molecular basis of disease; and many other pressing health concerns.

Part of Columbia University, NCCP identifies and promotes strategies that prevent young child poverty in the United States and that improve the life chances of the millions of children under age six who are growing up poor.

Part of Georgetown University, the National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health provides leadership to the maternal and child health community in program development, policy analysis and education, and state-of-the-art knowledge to improve the health and well-being of children and families.

The National Health Policy Forum at George Washington University is an education and information exchange program primarily serving federal legislative and executive agency staff working in health care and related areas.

Part of the University of California, Los Angeles, the Center conducts research on national, state, and local health policy issues, provides public service to policy makers and community leaders, and offers educational opportunities for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.

An interdisciplinary institution designed to foster basic, applied and policy research, education and public service in the areas of health promotion, disease prevention and human aging.

As part of the University of Wisconsin, the Network is the primary resource in the state for stimulating, creating, and communicating useful health policy research and analysis.
