Consultative Forum on the Affordable Medicines Facility-Malaria (AMFm) 9/26/2008
Resources For the Future, Washington, D.C.
Affordable Medicines Facility-Malaria (AMFm) is the operational version of the "global subsidy" for malaria drugs first proposed in 2004 by an Institute of Medicine Committee. The purpose of AMFm is to provide widespread financial access to artemisinin-combination therapies (ACTs) and delay the emergence of resistance to artemisinins. The purpose of this forum is to discuss the rationale for AMFm, and to explore biomedical, economic and operational challenges related to AMFm.
