The Kaiser Family Foundation hosts this workshop on reaching and enrolling eligible low-income seniors for additional assistance with premiums and cost-sharing under the new Medicare drug benefit. The workshop includes updates on outreach and enrollment efforts from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Social Security Administration and perspectives on the challenges and strategies ahead. The discussion also addresses lessons learned from efforts to enroll low-income seniors for transitional assistance under the Medicare drug discount card program, which will be replaced by the new Medicare drug benefit in January 2006.
