About the Series
The Pandemic Series is made up of three elements: Facing AIDS, the acclaimed documentary by Rory Kennedy; Imaging AIDS, an art exhibition that includes work by Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Cindy Sherman; and Provoking Hope, a three-day symposium which explores HIV prevention, treatment, and the effects of the epidemic in developing countries. The series is presented at Brown University by the following University programs and affiliates: Brown Alumni Association, Student Coalition on AIDS, Brown Medical School, David Winton Bell Gallery, and University Advancement; and by Physicians for Human Rights, Health Action AIDS Project.
