Step 1: Finding the Survey Questions You Want
To find questions, you can click on
Search by Topics or
Advanced Search Options.
The Search by Topics button gives you options of search topics and subtopics. To get to questions on particular topics, click on a topic to view subtopics, and then click on the subtopic that most closely matches your interest.
For tips on using the Advanced Search feature, see
Advanced Search Tips.
After clicking on the subtopic (using Search by Topics) or completing an Advanced Search, you will see a search results Page (see Step 2).
Step 2: Search Results
After clicking on a subtopic or by conducting an advanced search, you will see a list of questions related to your subtopic or the advanced search you conducted.
Twenty-five questions appear on each page, and the total number of questions resulting from the search is listed at the top of each page.
The search results pages display question text, beginning interview date and the unique question identification number for each question.
Since many topics in the database have hundreds of questions, it may be helpful to limit questions by date range.
You can limit selected questions by data range or view only surveys conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation by using the pull-down box at the top of the search results page.
To view full question text, response percentages, and source information (see Step 3), click on the number to the left of the question or the date listed to the right.
By clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the page, you can move to the next or previous page in your search results page.
Step 3: Complete Survey Question Information
Complete information about the question, including question text, national response percentages, question notes and source information (survey firm, interview dates, sample, sample size, sponsor and interview method) is shown for each selected question.
