(S. 1) Prescription Drug and Medicare Improvement Act of 2003
Introduced by Sens. Baucus and Grassley, this legislation would created a Medicare prescription drug beneift.
Introduced June 11, 2003; passed by Senate Finance Committee, June 12, 2003; and passed by Senate June 27, 2003.

(H.R. 1) Medicare Prescription Drug and Modernization Act of 2003
This legislation, which would create a Medicare prescription drug benefit, was introduced in the House June 25, 2003 and passed in the House June 27, 2003.


Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Formerly known as HCFA, this federal agency administers Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
