Center on an Aging Society at Georgetown University
The Center on an Aging Society at Georgetown University is a Washington-based, non-partisan public policy institute that fosters critical thinking about the implications of an aging society. The Center studies the impact of demographic changes on public and private institutions and families of all ages.


National Council on the Aging
NCOA is an association of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, well being, and contributions of older persons.

National Association of State Units on Aging (NASUA)
The National Association of State Units on Aging was founded in 1964 as a national non-profit membership organization comprised of the 57 state and territorial government agencies on aging. The mission of the Association is to advance social, health, and economic policies responsive to the needs of a diverse aging population and to enhance the capacity of its membership to promote the rights, dignity and independence of, and expand opportunities and resources for, current and future generations of older persons, adults with disabilities and their families.

National Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Association
The National PACE Association (NPA) exists to advance the efforts of Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). PACE programs coordinate and provide all needed preventive, primary, acute and long term care services so that older individuals can continue living in the community.

AARP - Policy and Research
Conducts objective, relevant, timely, and credible policy research and analysis on health issues including long-term care, Medicare, and prescription drugs.

Urban Institute - Long-Term Care for the Elderly
This Web site offers links to reports on the long-term care worker shortage as well as information on community services, consumer-directed home care and financing options.

Institute for the Future of Aging Services (IFAS)
Works to create a connection between the policy, practice, and research communities to advance the development of aging services. Also endeavours to provide a forum for the health, supportive services, and housing communities to explore and develop policies and programs to meet the needs of an aging society.

National Governors Association
Develops policy reports on state programs, hosts seminars, and offers the governors' perspectives to Capitol Hill and the executive branch.

National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare
Serves as an advocate of Social Security and Medicare. Includes special sections on Medicare and prescription drugs.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Formerly known as HCFA, this federal agency administers Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
