"Health Spending and the Future of Medicaid"
This event webcast presents officials from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services present data on U.S. health care spending at a forum sponsored by the policy journal Health Affairs. CMS finds that national health spending reached $1.4 trillion in 2001 with the biggest annual increase in a decade. The forum also examines the financial crisis facing states and increases in Medicaid costs.

"State Fiscal Pressures and Health Coverage: An Outlook for 2003"
In this webcast briefing, the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured is releasing updated information on the states’ fiscal crisis and its impact on health coverage. With renewed federal proposals to assist states financially this year, the Commission is releasing three new reports as federal and state policymakers consider action: an updated survey on medicaid budget trends, a case study of Medicaid cuts in seven states, and the impact of freezing enrollment for SCHIP-eligible children in North Carolina.
