This is the fifth edition of this publication, which was formerly
known as the
State of Managed Care Quality. Like past reports, it focuses on the performance of the
managed care industry and its corresponding impact on our nation’s overall health.
The 2002 report also includes Medicaid and Medicare performance data for the first time; with their inclusion, the report has broadened in scope to address the
American health care system as a whole.
