The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
Aims to attract, manage and disburse additional resources through a public-private partnership that will make a sustainable and significant contribution to the reduction of infections, illness and death, thereby mitigating the impact caused by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in countries in need, and contributing to poverty reduction as part of the Millennium Development goals.
Global HIV Prevention Working Group
The Global HIV Prevention Working Group is an international panel of nearly 40 leading public health experts, clinicians, biomedical and behavioral researchers, and people affected by HIV/AIDS. The Working Group seeks to inform global policymaking, program planning, and donor decisions on HIV prevention, and advocate for a comprehensive response to HIV/AIDS that integrates prevention and care. The Working Group was convened in 2002 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.
CSIS Task Force on HIV/AIDS
The Task Force outlines strategic choices that lie ahead for the United States in fighting the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. The CSIS Task Force comprises an Eminent Persons Panel (EPP), drawn from Congress, the administration, public health groups, the corporate sector, activists, and others. This panel helps to shape the direction and scope of the Task Force and disseminate findings to a broader U.S. audience.
HIV InSite
A gateway to in-depth information about particular aspects of HIV/AIDS. HIV InSite is a project of the University of California, San Francisco AIDS Program at San Francisco General Hospital and the UCSF Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, projects of the UCSF AIDS Research Institute.
International AIDS Economic Network
Provides data, tools and analysis on the economics of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment in developing countries, for compassionate, cost-effective responses to the global epidemic.
International AIDS Society
The world’s professional society for scientists, health care and public health workers, and others engaged in HIV/AIDS prevention, control, and care. IAS aims to represent the scientific perspective in regional and global HIV/AIDS issues.
International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI)
Global organization working to speed the development and distribution of preventive AIDS vaccines.
Global Health Council
Seeks to "mobilize effective action by advocating for needed policies and resources, building networks and alliances among those working to improve health, and communicating innovative ideas, knowledge and best practices in the health field."
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation "continues to look for strategic opportunities to extend the benefits of modern science and technology to people around the world, especially where poverty serves as an obstacle to participating in these benefits."
