The Kaiser Family Foundation/Health Research and Educational
Trust 2002 Annual Employer Health Benefits Survey is
released at a briefing for journalists and policymakers. Survey findings also appear in the
September/October issue of the journal Health Affairs.
The
Kaiser-HRET survey provides an in-depth look at trends in health
insurance coverage through the workplace, the major source of
health coverage for Americans.
The survey of 3,262 employers
documents rising premiums, increases in employee cost
sharing and erosion in drug coverage and retiree health benefits.
Drew Altman, Ph.D., president of the Kaiser Family Foundation,
Diane Rowland, Sc.D., the Foundation’s executive vice president,
Mary Pittman, Sc.D., president of the Health Research
Educational Trust, Jon Gabel, vice president for Health System
Studies at the Health Research and Educational Trust, and John
Iglehart, founding editor of Health Affairs, discuss the
survey findings.
