The Kaiser Family Foundation/Health Research and Educational Trust 2002 Annual Employer Health Benefits Survey is released at a briefing for journalists and policymakers. Survey findings also appear in the September/October issue of the journal Health Affairs.

The Kaiser-HRET survey provides an in-depth look at trends in health insurance coverage through the workplace, the major source of health coverage for Americans.

The survey of 3,262 employers documents rising premiums, increases in employee cost sharing and erosion in drug coverage and retiree health benefits.

Drew Altman, Ph.D., president of the Kaiser Family Foundation, Diane Rowland, Sc.D., the Foundation’s executive vice president, Mary Pittman, Sc.D., president of the Health Research Educational Trust, Jon Gabel, vice president for Health System Studies at the Health Research and Educational Trust, and John Iglehart, founding editor of Health Affairs, discuss the survey findings.
