The Kaiser Family Foundation and FRONTLINE co-host a forum featuring Washington Post correspondent T.R. Reid’s FRONTLINE production, Sick Around the World. Reid undertook the research and reporting on which the documentary is based while he was a 2007 Kaiser Media Fellow. Sick Around the World is a FRONTLINE and Palfreman Film Group co-production. The documentary explores the challenges for industrialized countries in stemming the rising cost of health care driven by new medical technologies, making better use of medical evidence in clinical practice, responding to an aging population, and improving quality of care. How countries around the world address these issues – and how they have evolved to the health systems they have today – may be instructive as a new President and Congress tackle changes to the U.S. health system. For more information including clips from the documentary, please visit the FRONTLINE Web site.
