Jacob Hacker, author and professor of political science at Yale University, discusses the growing economic insecurity facing American families. In his recently published book, "The Great Risk Shift," and paper written for the Brookings Institution, "Universal Insurance: Enhancing Economic Security to Promote Opportunity," Hacker describes how "medical costs and insurance are at the heart of insecurity in the United States." He identifies strategies for expanding health coverage.  

Jacob Hacker is interviewed by Jackie Judd of the Kaiser Family Foundation.
