This Kaiser Family Foundation and the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) event marks the release of the annual National AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP) Monitoring Project Report. As President Bush has called on Congress to provide new funding to end waiting lists for HIV medications in the U.S. and reauthorize the Ryan White CARE Act, experts provide results from a survey of state ADAPs and participate in a panel discussion about the implications for future AIDS policies.
The topics for discussion include such emerging issues as how ADAPs and their clients have adapted to the new Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit and lessons learned for ADAPs and the Ryan White CARE Act from the experiences of Hurricane Katrina.
Updated ADAP data is available on statehealthfacts.org.
