The Journal of Healthcare for the Poor and Underserved marks Black History Month with a special supplement devoted to examining efforts aimed at addressing health disparities through education, outreach, interventions and policy initiatives. One article examines a new and unique training program at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston for doctors interested in focusing on disparities in poor regions. The writing team includes Dr. Paul Farmer who has done extensive work in resource poor settings. The lead author is Dr. Jennifer Furin who was interviewed by Jackie Judd.
