Former Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson talks to Kaiser Family Foundation vice president Jackie Judd about his tenure as HHS secretary and the challenges ahead in federal health policy, including implementation of the new Medicare prescription drug benefit, stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS at home and abroad and bioterrorism preparedness efforts.

Drew Altman, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Kaiser Family Foundation, and Donna E. Shalala, Ph.D., president of the University of Miami and former HHS secretary, provide opening remarks.
