This Kaiser Family Foundation forum features the release of a new study that documents how television hospital dramas address important health policy issues. In addition, forum participants address the following questions: To what extent are TV dramas and Hollywood movies engaging health policy issues? How these issues are portrayed? Is Hollywood is demonizing insurers and health providers, or helping to raise public awareness and engage popular concern?

Speakers include: John Q screenwriter James Kearns; University of Pennsylvania professor and new study author Joseph Turow; Medical Supervisor of ER and Third Watch Mark Morocco; American Association of Health Plans president Karen Ignagni; and Families USA executive director Ron Pollack.
