Coverage, Access and Quality | Former President Clinton Urges Black Leaders To Focus on Health Care
[Apr 20, 2007]

Former President Clinton on Thursday at a meeting of the National Action Network said that black leaders must focus on health care issues, the AP/San Francisco Chronicle reports. In a "wide-ranging talk on topics from the genocide in Darfur to his efforts to reduce the calorie content of soft drinks," Clinton "implored" black leaders to "take better care of their health," the AP/Chronicle reports. Clinton also urged the audience to learn as much as possible about Democratic presidential candidates' universal health care proposals, as well as how they plan to promote a "culture of wellness" to reduce health care costs (Fouhy, AP/San Francisco Chronicle, 4/20).
